I can't give you odd in percentage points but here's an anecdotal story...I got my girlfriend pregnant, 18 months ago when she was 48.5 years old. She was a smoker, about 25 lbs overweight, didn't eat right, and had a high stress job; she "shouldn't" of been able to get pregnant. She had previously been married, had only one child, and had very much wanted another one. She and her ex had not used any Birth Control for 12 years, trying to conceive another child, to no avail. After about a year of her and I having frequent sex, she surprised me with the news she was 9 weeks pregnant! Sadly, the baby was lost at week 11. So, what are the chances? I don't know, but it CAN happen and unless you're prepared to be an older parent, you should take the necessary precautions.

As your older brother, I've been where you are—maybe not exactly, but close enough.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?
