There is no set age that is universally considered appropriate for a child to have a cell phone, as different families and individuals may have varying opinions on the matter. However, many experts suggest that around the age of 12 or 13 is a common time for children to start using a cell phone. It is important for parents to consider factors such as the child's level of responsibility, maturity, and need for communication before deciding when to provide them with a cell phone. Ultimately, the decision should be based on what is best for the individual child and their family.
Thanks
I would be hesitant to put a perfect age on getting a cell phone. I would argue that your son needs a cell phone when he is going out on his own. When he is in a situation where you need to be able to contact him, but you cannot, then would be a good time to get him a cell phone. This likely will not be until he is in middle school or even high school and has more opportunity to go out socially.
I think eleven or twelve is a good age for a cell phone.
you should get your child a cell phone at age ten.
Currently 75 percent of children aged 12 to 17 have a cell phone. There is no one right age to buy a child a cell phone and it is totally dependent on the child and the parent.
I think a child should defiantly have a cell phone by the time they are in secondary school. Ten or Eleven would be a good age...
Any parent (or other family member) may purchase a cell phone for their child, when the child has proven him/herself responsible enough to use it.
when they are mature enough to take care of one and when they can walk home aloit depends.here are a few questions you might want to ask yourself:is the child responsible enough for a cell phone?can you trust the child.
13-19 would be the correct age group that apple iphone users are.
I feel that 16 is a decent age to get a cell phone.
The appropriate age for a girl to get her ears pierced is 8.
I personally didn't get a cell phone until i was 16, but times have changed. I think an appropriate age to first have a cell phone is about 13-15 yrs old. That way they have more maturity. If you think of having one before that age there are phones that have 'parental controls' on them it costs about $5-$10 more a month on your regular bill. You can see who your child calls and you can control who they can call too, its well worth it... i do know AT&T carries that option.
No, at that age you really shouldn't even talk to boys on the the phone. Especially older boys. So no, nine is not the appropriate age to be talking to older boys on the phone.
54% of Americans will have a cell phone at the age of 8.
