Took out my infected belly piercing that I got a week ago bc the piercer did it wrong and it was sinking inside my stomach it was ripping my skin Takin it out was bad idea?

Probably a great idea, now you can clean and disinfect it, but you had better go see a doctor, an infection can turn nasty overnight, you may need antibiotics, in fact I am sure you will.

The barbell is probably too short and isn't accommodating the swelling. Go to your piercer and ask them to change it out to something longer.

Becoming swollen and sore after getting the piercing is usually common. What is uncommon is the stud sinking into your lip. You probably need to go back to the piercer and get a different type of jewelry.

Yes. When smaller jewelry is put into a piercing that was pierced at a larger gauge, the piercing will shrink slightly to accommodate it. However, you must be careful when shrinking piercings. If you put in a smaller stud or piece of jewelry then the hole size, it can sink inside of it. Lips are notorious for having small studs sink inside. Ask a piercer for advice when downsizing piercings to be sure that sinking doesnt happen. Sometimes just putting a bigger ball on the end of the stud will keep a smaller post in a piercing, so it doesnt sink.

It sounds like the barbell is too short. Go see your piercer asap as they may need to lengthen the barbell to allow for more swelling. When i had mine done, the same happened. That would be a sign that the piercing jewellery is too short for the piercing and you are going through some swelling. You should get into your local body piercing studio and have the jewellery changed as soon as possible, left unresolved this can cause serious issues for your piercing. All piercings discharge during the initial stages of healing, this discharge matter needs to be washed away daily so the piercing can heal. If the matter is left and not cleaned away the piercing can swell and become infected. Aftercare is a daily requirement and not an option, it needs to be done every day to maintain a health piercing. If the jewellery is too short it can block the entry and exit points of the piercing stopping the piercing discharge from draining and thus causing further complications to occur.

I've asked many people this question and I never got the same answer. It is all a matter of opinion. Some people think getting it pierced in a stud is better and some think a loop is better.. I personally just got my nose pierced 4 days ago in a loop (my piercer advised against it) and it looks great for being a new piercing. I've cleaned it more than 3 times a day and it looks normal. Some people believe that piercing it in a loop will result in the piercing not healing right. I think that a loop is easier to clean and looks better. Piercing it in a stud can result in the piercing sinking into the skin and/or dirt and oils getting trapped under the stud. I'd advise a loop.

Most piercings swell afterwards....This is why we use jewelry a little longer than necessary for the initial piercing, to accommodate for the swelling....Whoever pierced yours used too short a jewelry....In a day or two it MAY go down but if it doesn't it will swell over the ball and have to be cut out.....Hope this helps
