There are many types of cycles but I'm going to assume you're talking about the life cycle, life cycle is continued and never stopped until the creatures all have pass away. The life span is an average life time usually in years, like the hamster/gerbil life span is 3-4 years a dog life span is 12-14 years. The life cycle would just be, well life.
