After a few hours of research (thanks to Remington society) about my own gun I found that I have a Remington Model 12 CS (Model 12 C version that shoots only S 22 Special rounds). 22 Special is the same as 22 WRF (available from Cabelas). It was made in June of 1933 according to barrel stampings of PX using the BLACKPOWDER-X system. Hope this helps someone else identify their old rifle. Dave
