In 8 hours.......... 8-10 checkouts, 10-12 stayovers, laundry if no set laundry person, and all the extras that need to be done in the hotel (extras split between staff working). If they get more then this done, then they have not cleaned the room properly, no matter how fast they say they can move!
This goes for big hotels, small hotels, and resorts. I have worked them all for 6 years. Max 30 min. for a checkout, and max 15 min. for a stay. The max time is for the really messy rooms. Though I have had some that took up to 45 min. before due to stupid people playing pranks and messing the room up on purpose as much as they can. But that only happens once and a while.
It will vary from hotel to hotel. The way they do it, is lets say they have 38 rooms in the WHOLE HOTEL to clean. If there are 3 housekeepers for the day, then its 38 divided by 3.
to make sure the rooms in the hotel are clean and stocked for the next guest.
