If the pain, redness, or itchiness lasts more than a month, its probably infected. Greenish/yellow discharge is the biggest sign though.
The first signs would be a combination of swelling, redness and possible smelly discharge around the piercing as well as pain or a throbbing sensation in the ear lobe.
Signs of an infected piercing Redness, discharge of green puss, swelling, tenderness and possible warm to the touch. The quickest way to resolve an infected piercing is to irrigate the piercing under warm running water while moving the jewellery back and forth through the piercing allowing the water to rinse the jewellery off. If you are using after care products to clean your piercing cease using all of them (this way we can find out if the aftercare product is causing the problem). Irrigating the piercing twice a day under warm water while moving the jewellery will rinse the puss and other matter out of the piercing. Once you have completed the rinsing, dry the piercing with clean tissue and leave it alone, don't apply anything else to the piercing. This should resolve and infected piercing within 24 to 48 hours.
If it's a red line under you piercing you should be on the way to see your doctor as soon as you read this, that is a sign of a possible blood infection or blood poisioning. Not cool, go now...............
You will know when your lip piercing is infected when your lip is totally swollen and you cannot tolerate the pain. When you touch it, it is extremely painful that you can no longer eat properly. When you see yellowish fluid coming out when you kinda push and put pressure on it, that's is one definite sign, it is infected. Fever will occur in some cases. You should clean it more frequently to avoid infection. =) Hope this will help you.
Nipple tenderness can be a sign of your period or early pregnancy. Take a pregnancy test if you think you're pregnant.
Well when the piercing is red, swollen, discharging green puss, painful and warm to the touch, guess what, "it's infected". See your doctor. If your piercings are red, discharging clear fluid, the piercing appears to be enlarged* (*the jewellery looks like it's floating in space in the piercing), then this is s sign of an allergic reaction, generally due to either the material the piercing was done with or the solution you are using to clean the piercing. Cease using whatever you are using to clean the piercing and see your doctor. If the piercing appears to be normal skin tone and it's discharging clear fluid with no pain or swelling, guess what, your saliva ducts in your cheeks have been cut by the piercing and you need to see a doctor to have the piercing cauterized closed.
A crust around the nipple could be a sign of infection, eczema, or other skin condition. Very rarely, nipple changes can be a sign of cancer. See your health care provider for accurate diagnosis.
Yes
possibly a sign of pregnancy
puss is a sign of infection
Nipple retraction is rarely a sign of breast cancer, and is only clinically significant if the nipple used to "stick out" and is now retracted. If it was always retracted, there is no cause for concern.
