It is generally not a good idea to do anything before getting a piercing. Perscriptions, alcohol, drugs, even caffeine is not recommended before getting pierced. Piercings cause blood sugar levels to drop and any "drug" even caffeine can have a negative effect on the body during piercing. Even asprin, which can cause excess bleeding. If its not an oral piercing doing it after is a better idea.

∙ 15y agoYes, mostly when the piercing hasn't healed yet. Rinse with 50/50 Water/Listerine before and after you smoke and KEEP IT CLEAN to minimize infection

∙ 14y agoSmoking anything will effect your new piercing, you need to make sure you have cool water to drink while you are smoking so the residue doesn't stick to the barbell or get into the piercing.

Never get it pierced as you can get a very bad infection whitch could lead to you having some of your tongue removed from cancer and always use a toothbrush with a tongue cleaner so every time you brush you can clean your tongue too!
