Redness around the top exit point of the piercing is not uncommon, this area is more subject to irritation from sleeping, clothing and the day to day encounters surface tissue would be subjected to. Now if the tissue is swollen or distended and the redness is not localized to the close area of the piercing exit point and extends further than the piercing, chances are good you are reacting to the aftercare solution or cleaner you have been provided.
It would be a good idea to go back and see your piercer and let he/she have a look at the piercing to ensure it's healing properly (there should be no charge for this service from the studio that did the piercing).
Your belly button piercing hurts more then a normal ear piercing your belly button piercing is more sensitive then a ear. :]
Yes it's normal discharge and will go away in a couple of days.
When you first get a piercing, redness aroud it is perfectly normal. Depending on where it's pierced will determine how long it's going to stay irritated. Most of the time a piercing will be red for the first 2-4 days and be swollen. If it persists then I'd go back to the piercer.
Yes it's not uncommon, just stay on the cold stuff and you will be fine.
ronaldo
yes. just soak it with a saline solution to remove it. DON'T pick at the scab.
Most piercings are pierced with a 16 gauge needle, but if you want to stretch it, I wouldn't go any larger than a 10.
Your immune system is loaded down right now and a piercing is not going to help it one bit. wait till you are back to normal health before getting anything pierced.
yes, it's very normal. Just clean it regulary -- don't over-clean since that can lead to infection. but puss around it should minimize or go away complelty in a few weeks
When you have your navel pierced it is normal for it to itch while it is healing. That is just telling you that it is still healing. Don't itch it though. Ignore it, eventually it will pass.
Yeah, it's completely normal. Just clean it as much as you can (:
Swelling, soreness, redness, minimal puss.
