Unfortunately it could stay longer than smoking it normally, when you smoke the ash of a bud what you are getting essentially is a powder version of hash.. It is still full of THC, and i know of a few times being able to just get high off of heating up my pipes bowl. So if you have smoked ash and you are worried... You should be because it's no different except the experience, it probably tasted horrible, Either didn't get high at all or got really high but felt sick from inhaling so much ash. So the point is ash from pot is just as potent as the leaf itself, and can defiantly show up in a test..
