You hold the home and the top button until the iPod turns off, continue to hold down both buttons and when the the ipod is turning back on release the top button while continueing to press the home button, this will reset the whole ipod. Do this while the ipod is plugged into your computer. You might have to do this twice for it to work.
When you first type in your passcode it will give you a master one use that
