You hold the home and the top button until the iPod turns off, continue to hold down both buttons and when the the ipod is turning back on release the top button while continueing to press the home button, this will reset the whole ipod. Do this while the ipod is plugged into your computer. You might have to do this twice for it to work.
Put it in recovery mode:
1: Preparation: On the computer, have iTunes the program opened and running with the USB charging cable connected to the computer but NOT to the iPod.
2: Turn the iPod off: Press and hold the sleep/wake button (at the top left corner) for approximately 10 seconds until the screen says "slide to power off."
3: Force into recovery mode: Press and hold the home button (in the front on the bottom) for approximately 10 seconds until you get the image of a USB cable pointing towards the iTunes logo on the screen. If you do not get this, try holding the home button down and at the same time plugging the other half of the USB cable into the ipod waiting for a message in iTunes.
4: Follow instructions in iTunes: Once you plug the iPod into the computer, you should get a message saying "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode, it must be restored to be used." At this point you hit the restore button in iTunes and wait for the iPod to be restored.
When you first type in your passcode it will give you a master one use that
You can and you can't. The only way to get past the passcode if you forgot your passcode is to do a restore through iTunes.
you can restore the whole ipod
You have to restore the iPod through iTunes.
The important thing to remember is to Set-up as a new iPod and not restore from back up. The latter will result in the restriction code still being there. Resetting the pass code is easy. for detail steps read this ( http://proanswers.org/322/my-ipod-touch-forgot-my-restrictions-password-what-should-do )
i don't think you can.
i forgot my ipod touch username for app store?
Enter your 4-digit passcode. If it is not your iPod Touch, do not attempt to hack it, since hacking is illegal in most places. If it is your iPod, you have to restore it through iTunes if you forgot the passcode.
You need to restore it if you forgot the passcode, and it's not jailbroken.
When speaking about iPod Touches, 'passcode' and 'password' are two synonyms for the same meaning. 'Passcode' is used more often, though.
you need to know the actual passcode... settings/general/passcode lock
The only way to prevent access to an iPod Touch that was stolen is if you have a passcode on it.
