Since you are young (13 years old), your cycle probably hasn't evened itself out to a near-perfect and timely / orderly calendar yet. Different things like stress and weight lossor weight gain can also affect when you get your period, if you get it at all. Still, only one week late is not too bad. There is nothing you should be worrying about over this.
Most periods last around 3 to 7 days. If yours is 13, that is not dramatically different. Every girl is different. Therefore, every period is different. A period of 13 days would be normal if the same person always have it for 13 days. If the person usually has a 4 day period, for example, then has a 13 day period, that isn't normal. Remember, if this is one of the first few periods, it is supposed to be irregular Once a regular period starts, then it should stay regular.
It starts between the ages of 10-16. Once you start it you will have it every month for about a week. It is okay if your body skips a month. Hope I helped!(: -13 yer old girl that started her period at 10.(:

Since you're 13 and you started your period last month and your periods are 6 days late, you shouldn't be worried. It is very common for girls to be late or irregular when they first have their period.
Well you see it verifies see i got mine when i was 10 in year 5 and that's pretty young. so from about 10 to say 13 or 14 or if your a late bloomer then maybe even 15 now when you get it your period happens once a month for about a week. wear pads and big pads when the blood flow is heavy and it should blow over in about a week.

you will get it when your 13 12 11 14 15 or if its late 16 or past. not usually it go`s for a couple days every month, so i guess that sums it up.
This is normal, you are probably just a late bloomer. Nothing to worry about.
Your period could have come late because you may have ovulated later. A menstrual cycle can be affected by stress alone.

The average age of menarche (first period) is 13, but that doesn't mean that you should have your period by the time you're 13. You're still young, you could get your period any time in the next 3 years and still be considered perfectly normal - even if you don't reach menarche by the age of 16 you may just be a late bloomer.
This is nothing to worry about, she is just a late bloomer. Many girls do not hit puberty until they are 13, and some may be as late as 14 or in some cases 15.
National Brother's Week in Canada falls between March 7 and March 13 each year. National Sister's Week is also observed during the same period.
