Insulting comments, even jokingly made, can often be hurtful, and in your case pointless. If you like a guy, why insult him? There are other ways to flirt. You could, instead of insulting him, compliment him. You could give him a cute wink or blow him a kiss. I'm willing to bet that any positive form of flirting will bring you better results than jokingly insulting him.
