The short answer is, the barrel must be at least 18 inches, and the overall length must be at least 26 inches.
The longer answer is, a shotgun can be any length, but if it is shorter than I just described, you apply to the ATF, pay a fee, then wait to be approved in order to own it. It normally takes several months to be approved, and the fee is $200.
This is all federal law. TN has no laws that make any of that illegal.

Short barreled shotgun is actually a legal term- it means a shotgun that has barrels less than 18 inches, or an overall length of less than 26". To my knowledge, H&A did NOT make a short barreled shotgun. Information is thin- they went out of business about 1914-1916, but all listings I have seen are for 28 inch barrels.
The abbreviation (Tenn.), also TN, is for the state of Tennessee.
Antenna and centennial are words. They include the letters TENN.

To be termed a short barrelled shotgun, the barrel length has to be less than 18 inches when measured from the chamber (on a closed bolt) to the end of the muzzle.
