In Germany, Christmas is celebrated by hanging up a wreath made up of fir twigs with 4 candles attached. Each Sunday of advent they light one candle. Booths and stalls are set up, too, but include Christmas decorations and gingerbread men which are only made and eaten at Christmas. As in many countries, they also hang candies and cookies on the Christmas trees.
In many families in the United States, it is traditional to celebrate both Christmas Eve night as well as Christmas Day. So in a way, Christmas is celebrated for 2 days, even though Christmas itself is really only one day.
