I am a 17 year old male, and eat a large amount of calories per day (approximately 4,000 calories). I am not overweight, but I am very physically active. If you record how many calories are burned a day, then it is easier to determine how many calories you need. If you eat more than you burn, weight will be gained. If there are less calories consumed than used, weight will be lost. If they are equal (approximately) then there will be no major weight change.
