Very few, if any, Even though some massages can be considered like exercise. It is generally accepted that you burn the same number of calories from a one hour Swedish massage as you do in a 20 minute walk.

Well, it depends what kind of massage you're giving.

There's the famous "Gold Rush", in which you crouch over the back of the receiver, repeatedly digging your knuckles into their shoulder blades using a jittery movement (sifting bowl is optional).

The Breakdancer is another good one, which consists of you attempting to spin round on the receivers back on your hands, trying out famous Break Dancing moves such as the "Top Rock" the "Coin Drop" and the "Helicopter" - this burns up at least 900 calories every three or four minutes, at an average.

A less high power massage, if you're going for something more subtle is the "Chloroform Victim", in which you lie bodily on top of the massage-ee.

I would suggest trying each of these techniques out, to see which one suits you best!
