Light heals occur quite quickly but the seasoned and toughening of the piercing can take up to one year to occur and this is the point where the jewellery can be changedfrequently without irritating the piercing. Due to the nature of the navel (it's always moist and covered most of the time) this healing can take a long time. The navel tissue doesn't have a lot of circulation and with that the healing time is considerably longer. Fresh air good aftercare and leaving the original jewellery alone as long as possible will allow the piercing to heal as quickly as it can. There is no miracle healing potion, just time and good aftercare and fresh air.
