But (at least this is my preference) be blunt, don't tip toe around it, don't keep saying your busy just say "Sorry, I don't want to go out with you" maybe add that you would like to be friends if you really really want to be Tell him that although you're flattered, you're just not looking for a relationship right now. If you're just not interested in the guy, again, just tell him you're flattered, you just see him as more of a friend and you don't want to jeopardize the friendship. It's worked for me, the worst the guy could do is not talk to you again, in which case wasn't a real friend to begin with. Try to make light of the situation so it's not awkward for either of you.
