After the block has been pulled as far out as it will allow, pull the slide back carefully and then lift up and away from the frame of the gun. The slide should pop up. Then move the slide forward to allow it to escape the barrel and recoil spring. The firing pin is located inside the slide and it can fall out, so watch it.
