Stretching your ear for 'spacers' or 'plugs' is a time consuming development.

You can now buy 'stretchers' from most piercing salons. They look like a spiral that starts small in diameter and gets thicker towards the end of the spiral. The idea with this is to start with stretching your ear with perhaps half a dozen 'sleepers' (round earings) until the hole is big enoguh to start using the stretcher.

Once you have the stretcher on over time you gradually push it further and further down the spiral and it opens the hole up.

If you decide to get BIG spacers remember once they are veyr big they will not shrink back to normal if you change your mind in a couple of years. AND!!! ALWAYS keep them clean. people can smell them if they are unkept.

Will faux plugs stretch your ear hole?

Yes, they technically will, depending on the faux plug that you get. Some Faux plugs are actually bigger than the mm of regular earrings. So yes, in a way faux plugs will stretch your ear lobes, will they stretch them any size that will prevent you from still having normal ear lobes? No, most faux plugs, if they are larger than a regular mm piercing, are less than 14g.

Ear stretching facts?

Ear stretching hurts. It is also permanant when you go past 9mm, so be completely sure you want to do it. Could you imagine being 80 with a big flappy ear? You can only stretch flesh, so don't even attempt to stretch cartilage, as people who have plugs in cartiliage have had a circle actually cut out and removed. I started to stretch my ear when I was 12, but when I got to 13, I decided it wasn't for me. Really think about it, as it may look cool when your young, but it's as permanent as a tattoo.
