Establish in the first instance what the shortfall is.

Identify if that shortfall is yours, someone else's

Identify what needs to happen to improve the shortfall

set out procedure to improve. i.e. Training for person X on the issue, how the issue occurs, how to recognised the issue and what is done to stop the issue occurring, in this case doing a job/task a specific way and the steps to do that job in that manner.

Set in place the training.

Set out stages at which the knowledge will be tested and to if its been learned i.e. the person explains back the procedure in a manner that allows you confidence that they can-do the task, or even watch them do the task at the point of checking.

All training development processes should have time related stages , therefore x is to be completed by Y date, check to make sure development is working by Z date then the next step to be done and the date for that. Mile stones are vital as is the small stage steps so that everyone know whaere tey should be and at what stage they need to be.

Complete the training/development and test it by letting the person do the task fully.

Record what has been done, why and with whom and what the required outcome is to be. Get all in the loop to sign off.

Set out points in time where the task/process is checked by a competent person to make sure that there is no issues.

The process is very "quality management" where you identify the shortfall no matter how small, put in place process/procedure to improve (including communication of the improvement to all involved) allow the process to run, retest the process to make sure its happening if not return to starting point (identify shortfall) and redo. If its working look for further opportunity's to improve and again implement, test improvement, start again. This cycle is used to keep on providing improvements - nothing is ever 100% right so there should be always chances to add small but effective improvements to anything

How do you overcome boredom?

One key to establishing motivation is to first acquire a vision. A vision is a clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. In other words, it's a dream. However, a dream (vision) without direction will never become a reality. It will always remain a dream. Therefore you need to develop a road-map leading to the overall goal or objective with short-term goals and objectives that will indicate you are moving in the right direction. The short-term goals and objectives will also act as a facilitator and promote of a sense of accomplishment, which in turn will give you the incentive to keep striving toward the over-all goal and objective. You must remain focused, unwavering, persistent, and 100% committed to realize successful outcomes. Thus: you should: • Develop the will to change circumstances • Acquire a vision (dream) • Develop a road-map with short-term objectives leading to the overall goal • Just do it with 100% commitment until the goal becomes a reality Remember this. The true measure of a man (meaning mankind, men and women), is not their position in life, how much money they have, the cloths they wear, or the mark they leave on the world. The true measure of a man is what it takes to discourage him. Keep your eye on the prize with perseverance and you will achieve your goal!

How do short term goals help you reach your long term goals?

Your short term goals should be the steps that you need to take in order to fulfill the long term goals. For example, if you want to save $1,000 you might have short term goals to save $100 every month. Or if you want to improve your grades, your short term goals would be to complete your homework assignments every day and to study for each test.

What should you take up after graduating BS Psychology?

The best course to study is the one that leads to your overall career goals and objectives. Thus, I would imagine you do not have anything specific at this time. So many individuals enroll in college programs without a specific goal in mind. As such, many become miserable in their work which is not good for them, or their employer. If you want to be successful in your work and personal life, carefully consider the following. To be successful in your work, you must acquire a vision. A vision is a clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. In other words, it's a dream. However, if the dream does not have direction, it will always remain a dream and will never become a reality for you. That vision should create a passion within you, a love for what you do and the benefit it brings others as well as yourself. Make sure the vision is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and tangible. Let us look at this closer. When you believe you have chosen an appropriate career goal, look at it in SMART fashion as follows. * Specific - Make sure your career goal is very specific. For example, "I would like to be a teacher," is not specific. "I would like to be a high school biology teacher in New Jersey (USA) in an urban school by 2012" is. * Measurable - Make sure you can measure your progress. How will I know I am progressing in the right direction? This is where the development of short-term objectives comes in (discussed below). You will know you are on the right path as you accomplish each short -term objective. * Achievable - Is the goal achievable considering my current life situation and circumstances? * Realistic - Is what I want to do really realistic. For example, "I would like to be a middle weight boxing champion, and I am 63 years old." That is not realistic. * Tangible - What will I - specifically - have at the end? What will I be (exactly)? It must be very specific. Once you have that vision your path will become clear. Still, you will need a mentor, counselor, or coach who will be able to help you develop a road map embedded with short term objectives leading to your overall career overall goals and objectives. The achievement of short-term objectives will indicate you are moving in the correct direction, and will also give you energy and excitement to carry on towards your overall career goal. It will take some research, but you most likely have some ideas already. Follow them through, look at the nature of the field, the everyday routine, the required education, the salary, the occupational demand and the related fields. When a career sparks an interest, try to shadow an individual who is actually doing what you think you might like to do. You can pick up valuable information this way. Thus, the following. * Acquire the will to change circumstances. * Acquire the vision (dream). * Develop a road-map embedded with short-term objectives leading to your overall goal and objective. * Just do it and do not let go until it becomes a reality.
