It might help if you state the model you are trying to reassemble. Can I suggest that you go to the Crosman home page ( They own Benjamin air gun / rifles) and click on "Download an owners manual." There you will find not only the owners manual but a parts list that shows all the parts and how they are assembled.
Yes
Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield did not invent the BB gun.
I don't believe Benjamin ever made a model 170, but they did make a model 177. Is this the BB gun you are asking about?
Crosman owns Hahn... See the link below.
Because the air pump in a bb gun makes the bb feel like a pinch
I need more information: You said BB GUN are you sure it's not a BB rifle. This makes a big difference. Does it have a wood stock and long brass barrel. I need more information so I can answer you. This could be an early model Benjamin.
A pump action BB gun requires you to pump the forearm (The grip under the barrel) several times to store air in the air tube. This air propels the pellet when the trigger is pulled.
some do some don't depends on the model.
It was made between 1947 to 1960
Check the Benjamin line of air guns at www.crosman.com. Benjamin make metal air guns. Also there is no such thing as BB bullets. BB's and pellets are fired from Air guns.
