The Marksman was made from the mid 70' to sometime in the 80's. Answers has no way of displaying photographs but I did a web search on "Markaman 740 air gun" and found several images of the rifle. It should not be hard to find them. It's a breal barrel rifle.
To load a Remington 740 rifle, first ensure the firearm is pointed in a safe direction and that the safety is engaged. Open the action by pulling the operating handle to the rear, then insert a magazine containing the appropriate ammunition into the magazine well until it clicks into place. Next, chamber a round by pulling the operating handle back and releasing it to allow the bolt to move forward, loading a round into the chamber. Finally, ensure the safety is disengaged when you are ready to fire.
