You don't pump a Daisy model 288. It's an Under-lever Single stroke pistol. Pull the bar under the barrel down until you feel it click. Then push it back up into place. The pistol is now ready to fire, if you loaded in the BB's
I can not find any information of a Daisy model 653. However Daisy did make a model 693 BB pistol. Is this the pistol you are referring to?
Best to ask a gunsmith for assistance.

All Daisy model 25's load the same. You unscrew he end of the barrel and pull out the loading tube. It's pretty self evident when you see it.

You can't it's a pop toy rifle. Not meant to shoot BB's
The model 102 rifle is loaded by removing the cap on the end of the barrel.
This is a Daisy model 1894. It's loaded from the right side through the loading port above the trigger. You will have to push the spring tab forward (located just below the barrel on the right side.) as the BB's roll in. It's one BB at a time to load it.
