Simply give it to them. If you want to erase your personal information, then restore the iPod in iTunes. If you want to make sure the iPod's ownership is transferred in Apple's system, just call Apple at 1-800-275-2273 and ask the customer service rep to update the registration information to the new owner's information.

If you have itunes and a computer you should just be able to go on it on the computer and check the songs you want. If you are using and buying songs on an ipod touch they do not download onto your computer so on your computer itunes plug in your ipod touch but be sure the sync is set to download songs onto the computer. Now you plug in your ipod and check the songs you want, wait for it to sync.

How do you put your old iPod music onto your new iPod?

If you have music backups of the old iPod in iTunes, you can easily sync the songs with the new iPod. If you don't have backups, you are also able to transfer purchased songs from the old iPod to iTunes using the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes. You won't be allowed to transfer the songs from the old iPod to computer or new iPod if the songs are not from iTunes. This is how to transfer music from old iPod to new iPod with the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes: Step 1. Plug the Old iPod into computer via the USB cable. Then launch iTunes. Step 2. Click "File > Device > Transfer Purchases". iTunes will automatically transfer the songs to iTunes library. Step 3. Plug the new iPod into computer. Then import the songs from iTunes to the new iPod.

How do you transfer music from your ipod to the computer?

You can't transfer the music for iPod to the computer unless you transfered the music to the ipods disk before. (to transfer music to the ipods disk you have to go to my computer/iPod/--what ever ipods file you have--/and put it on there) after you transfer the songs you want to the ipods disk you can then transfer only those songs onto a different computer. Itunes doesnt allow you to use more than one library that's why you have to put the songs on the "disk" first.

I bought my ipod from my friend and it already had a lot of music that i like on it and i want to add more stuff from some cds but i dont want to get rid of the old stuff?

Ask if you guys can share an account. More than 1 ipod can be used with the same music and account but if you are using different computers you can import your music. If it is an older ipod you may be able to open up the ipod device in my computer and go to tools, folder options, view and then go down to view and then go down to view hidden files and folders. If it is not an older ipod and it is a touch or another newer ipod you have to download a program to import your music. If you don't import your music when you hook up your ipod to the computer and sync it with itunes, itunes will mirror what's in your itunes library to your ipod. So if nothing is in your itunes library everything will be deleted. There will be a message that comes up saying that the ipod has been synced with another itunes library and if you want to either sync the purchased songs from the ipod, erase and sync or cancel. Cancel the sync and click on your ipod in the side bar so you can get your ipod information there you can select to not sync your ipod when it's connected. So this it will save you a lot of hassle. Now you can download a program to transfer the songs from your ipod to your computer. Music rescue is great and it's free. There is just a message that comes up every 50 songs asking you to buy. It copies all your songs from your ipod to your computer. You can choose to transfer directly to itunes or create a folder of your songs. I recommend you create a folder and add it to itunes. Once you have all your songs in itunes double check all of your songs play and they don't have errors.
