Atkins for the short termI had good results with the Atkins diet -- 10 pounds in about 12 days -- but I wouldn't recommend it for long-term weight loss. But if you need to drop a size or two quickly, it's a proven choice. Plan on that size or two returning shortly afterward, though, unless you change your overall eating patterns! I have heard that some people thrive on Atkins long term, but it didn't work for me. AnswerCombine exercise(cardio for at least 30 minutes, at least 4 times a week), weight training(at least 3x a week) and counting calories(take out fat, and limit to no more than 2000 calories per day for a woman like me who is 5 ft tall and between age of 30 - 45). If one item is absent, my experience is it will not happen.
