First of all, you can't act that way. You can't say you're ugly because if you think it, then other people will. After all, if you wouldn't date yourself, why would a guy want to date you? Anyway, back to the point. I think you should go look in the mirror, find at LEAST one good feature (i.e. smile, eyes, teeth, nose) and focus on those when you're around him and play up your nice features. For example, if you have a nice smile, then smile more when you're around him. Not to the extent where he thinks you're crazy, but just enough to where he notices your beautiful smile. Or let's say you're a person with nice eyes. Get an eyeshadow compact at Wal-Mart. One with colors that compliment your eye pigments, and try that out. But just try a little bit, because you don't wanna look like a clown. Just start out with small talk. Like asking him how his day has gone, or just saying hi and smile when you pass him. But don't bombard him, or stalk him (i.e. passing by his locker or desk 3-5 times a day and smiling, because guys will notice when you get desperate like that) Also, if you can, dress nicer if you don't already. Try to make your wardrobe more appealing. Because if you're funny, but look like a dishrag all the time then he's only gonna see you as a friend. And, I know this is gonna sound like a cliche, but be yourself. You have to be able to let down your guard a little and be ready for possible rejection. I'm not saying that you're 100% gonna get rejected, but it's a possibility for anyone. If you ask anyone if they've ever been rejected they'll say yes...and if they don't they're a big fat liar because EVERYONE has been rejected at least once in some kind of form. But most important DON'T BE AFRAID, because chances are, he's had this same problem.
