i think if you go to yahoo or google you can type in rifle serial numbers. and there should be a website called gunnumbers.com if you go there you can type in the serial number of your rifle. they have tons of guns cataloged and they should have yours
Since serial numbers are NOT unique to only one gun, there is no way to determine that from a serial number alone. I would suggest you take the unloaded rifle to a gun shop, gun smith or gun show, where you should find an expert that can help you ID your rifle.

The model number is typically on top of the rifle above the trigger. usually it says 1938. As for the serial number, Red Ryder's usually don't have serial numbers because they are mass produced, but you will find a "LOT" number assigned to the rifle.
