Check the butt and crane areas ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My Redhawk's serial # is under the grips on the frame
Go to the Ruger website, select customer service, historical information, handguns, your model, and check the serial number table.
An Iver Jonson WHAT??? They made rifles, handguns and shotguns. A serial number alone tells us nothing. We need make, model and condition.
Some manufacturers websites have serial number data available, i.e, Ruger and Browning. Proofhouse.com has serial numbers for Colt Oldguns.net has some serial numbers ArmsCollector.com has some handgun forums.
Unfortunately, a serial number ALONE does not impart any information. H&A made rifles, shotguns and handguns. The company closed in 1916.
SOME guns had serial numbers in the late 1800s. They were required by law on handguns and machine guns in 1934 (in the US) and on rifles and shotguns in 1968.
No, all 45's made during WW2 were given a serial number. If yours does not have a serial number, thenm someone removed it. If no serial number, by law it is an illegal hand gun. however, the parts can be sold separate. which is legal, but not the frame......
all current hand guns have serial numbers, including police department handguns. if your handgun has no serial number then the serial # has been illegally removed and there is a possibility gun is stolen and thief removed the serial number........you have a parts gun if no serial number..................
No Serial number data for these. Most were made between about 1960-1968. Importation of most RGs was banned in 1968. These were very cheap handguns of poor quality.
Go to the Ruger website, click Customer Service, then historical data, handguns, your model- and there is a serial number range list for different years.
