The model number should be stamped into the barrel near the Winchester name. It will say "model" or "model of"
Sounds like a Winchester model 1873 .38 cal....email me pics and i can tell you more....martinphoto1@verizon.net Regards, Marty
Check the Web site for Winchester Arms.
With the serial number that you have provided, your Winchester model 1890 rifle was made between 1932-1941.It could have a very decent value depending on the amount of finish remaining on your firearm.I would have it appraised by a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.
Could you please tell us what model it is? If a Winnie has a really high number it is probably a Model 94 rifle or a Model 12 shotgun, but with a number under 100,000, it could be any of several dozen models.
Mossberg,Browning and Winchester are 3 possibles- but contact me with the MODEL number from the rifle, and we can tell.
It,s unfortunate that you cannot.Winchester choose to not record the serial numbers of any of the 200 class of rifles they made. This would include yours and the models 250,270,255 and 275.The Model 290 Winchester rifle was made from 1965-1976.
To find the year that any Winchester gun was made, you just need to know which model it is and what the serial number is (the model number and serial number are stamped on the gun itself). . Then go to this website and it will tell you when it was made: http://oldguns.net/sn_php/winmods.htm
Could you please check your information and rephrase this question? So far as I can tell Winchester never made a model 1917 or a model 9330
There is no way to tell from the information you have provided. A serial number is NOT unique to your gun. It may be unique to THAT make and model. Thus you could have a Winchester Model 70, and a Winchester Model 100, 2 very different rifles- but BOTH could have the same serial number. If it were not so, serial numbers would now have at least 50 numbers.
Winchester Model 94 Carbine serial number 2177658 was manufactured in the year 1956. Bert H.
I would be able to tell you the answer to your question if you would supply me with a model number and a serial number to the gun in question.
