Now this will also depend on the operating system of the laptop. I have Windows XP and Ubuntu (Linux) on a net book, I'm not sure about Mac OS base systems.

Yes, for original Xbox games. A emulator for 360 has not been made yet but I'm sure there will be since for almost every gaming system there is a emulator it's just a matter of finding out how to decode the disc. But downloading copyrighted ROM's is illegal, there are some open source though.
