It will depend on what kind of scar you have, keloid, hypertrophic, contracture? Do you scar easily? Is your family prone to scarring easily? This is usually hereditary, and causes alot of grief for people, especially those who are genetically predispositioned to scarring because this makes them less than good candidates for tattooing.
Also, ink sometimes has trouble of staying put in/on a scar and may require a few sessions until the correct coverage is achieved. A good artist knows this already and will fit that into the price. If they dont mention it, dont sit in their chair until you are certain that this scar cover project is just that, an entire package or with set prices for future touch ups if and when needed.
Covering up birthmarks, or skin discolorations in general are quite common. Covering scars is also done quite a bit but dont trust this to a novice artist. Find someone who you can check his work on previous cover-ups and the lasting results do matter so try and see people well after they have had the work done to see how the ink set. Of course the people you look at should have had similar needs to yours in the type of scarring and area to be treated.

Getting a tattoo removed can be extremely painful ! When you get a tattoo removed it usually just leaves a scar of what the tattoo is, it's almost like getting a scarification tattoo, there is honestly no point in even getting a tattoo removed, you will still have it on your skin.
yes they will go over it
There are tattoo removals but even after that surgery I believe there is still a scar that remains..Otherwise naturally no tattoos dont fade away completely. They do start to lose color though.
only if you can get to the tattoo shop but seriously yes and no
scarification, removing the tattoo with an acid solution to form a scar in its place
Yes they can. It can be painful and leave a scar
it entirely depends on how fast you've healed and how deep and nasty your scar is. Scar tissue tends to be alot different to tattoo than "regular" skin. its best to consult your tattoo artist as each case varies
no, unless somehow you get a cut on the tatoo, then if you get a scar of somethin it will show.
Its a personal choice, I had a mastectomy 5 months ago and just got a arm and chest tattoo ,I went for tribal design for max coverage of the scar ,it now looks like ive got a big tattoo ratrher than a big scar... scar didnt hurt any more than the rest of the area.
No, he does have a scar on his face though.
You have to wait for the tattoo to fully heal before you can get it tattooed over the top again.
im not sure......... .. Yes actually a tattoo will. My friend is a tattoo artist and he regularly covers scars with tattoos like one person who had bad scarring on her arm and covered it completely with a tattoo or another person who put her leg through glass and had a nasty scar which is no longer there because of her beautiful tattoo!
Sure you can! Just make sure you get a color that will not show that you have a birth-mark where it is at.
You will more than likely lose the color on that spot and you will have to get a touch up when the cut heals. Keep A&D ointment on it (or another ointment) so it will not scar and you will be able to have a touchup done.-Shocker
well a tattoo is really a scar so your cells are hurt then they heal themselves if you have any other questions please contact me
