As an American shooter of Mauser rifles, it breaks my heart to answer your question, but there is a least one British firm that advertises an average fee of 90 pounds for this service. You should check with gunsmiths in your area. (Heartfelt sobbing!)
German: Mauser Kar98 and MP40 Submachine gun US: Springfield 1903 and Thompson. Britain: Lee Enfield and Sten Mark 2 Russia: Mosin-Nagant and PPSh40
Yes
a German firearm, used in WWII.Kar stands for the abreviation of the word Karbiner(Carbine) in German. The kar98 had a 24in barrel, while the gew98 used in World War I had a barrel length of 29.5 inches.
Possibly- since the Mauser 98K was used by the Israeli military in the early days of Israel. It was generally not the weapon of choice in Afghanistan- the British SMLE was. There have been Chinese made variations of the Mauser rifle captured in Afghanistan, though not Kar98 carbines specifically. Groups affiliated with Al-Quaeda in Africa have them, as the Kar98 saw extensive use in Africa, both by the Afrika Corps of WWII and in the period of colonial wars which followed the end of the Second World War. We also regularly captured Mauser variants (including Kar98s), Lee-Enfields, and Mosin-Nagants in Iraq - they were put into service because their cartridges offered significantly better performance at range than the 7.62x39 cartridge. So while I can't for certain that Al-Quaeda specifically has used them, they are present and have seen use in places where Al-Quaeda operates.
There are some good deals on Amazon...
I bought one at the little sports store in Cielo Vista Mall.
I think Dboys are pretty cheap in relation to many other brands.
An army, a navy and an air force. He used the army more they had the best of weapons like the MP40 was the most used along with the KAR98
It really depends on the muzzle velocity (FPS), what the power source is (spring, gas, AEG), and what make/model the gun is.
There was one on Ebay a few months ago for about $450... hope this helps.
both are fine rifles. however, the garand is a semi-auto 8 shot, and the shooter can stay on target better. The K98 is a bolt action, meaning shooter has to take eye off target as he re-loads the K98. But the kar98 is very accurate so i think that you could pick the person off with the kar98 faster than m1 grand only if the other person is reloading. reloading a k98 does not take long since it has a clip. the K98 is similar to the 1903 Springfield rifle in that the 1903 also loads with a clip. Speaking from experience (Korea 1951) the M1 garand is an excellent shooter and if you learn how to shoot it most likely you will hit your target since you have 8 rounds semi-automatic and you DON'T have to take your eye off your target as with the K98. Having shot the K98 (mine) I find the open sight is not as good as the M1 garand peep-sights.
