So basically, whether you're on or off duty, you can't have a piercing or tat that shows. From what I can tell you could keep your belly button piercing- EXCEPT they might make you take it out for boot camp... they're really strict there...
but if you wanted to get it pierced, or re-pierced after then you should be good :)

Air Force Instruction 31-101
The mission statement of the Air Force is: "The mission of the United States Air Force is to fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace. Learn how we do it."
The German word for the air force is "Luftwaffe". FYI, at the beginning of WW1, the German air force was known as the German Air Service or "Luftstreitkrafte", which is translated Air Combat Force.

This is because the womb (and baby inside the womb) is putting pressure on the mothers abdomen. This pressure causes organs and the belly button as well to push forward causing the belly button to temporarily be an "outtie". Think of it like blowing up a balloon. When the balloon is completely full of air, the tip of it has a little "bump" on it because of the air pressure inside the balloon pushing it out.
people have belly buttons because they are funny cool and strange but mainly they are good to poke BELLY BUTTONS ROCK!!!Bellybuttons are the impression left by the umbilical cord of placental mammals.
Professional body piercers don't consider a piercing (any piercing ) to be healed until it's a year old. Light heals occur quite quickly but the seasoned and toughening of the piercing can take up to one year to occur and this is the point where the jewellery can be changedfrequently without irritating the piercing. Due to the nature of the navel (it's always moist and covered most of the time) this healing can take a long time. The navel tissue doesn't have a lot of circulation and with that the healing time is considerably longer. Fresh air good aftercare and leaving the original jewellery alone as long as possible will allow the piercing to heal as quickly as it can. There is no miracle healing potion, just time and good aftercare and fresh air.
you get behind the choking person, have their feet shoulder width apart and put 1 leg between theirs to catch them and lower them if they become unconscious, wrap your arms around their waist and find their belly button. Then make a fist with your other hand thumb towards them and place it right beneath the belly button. take the hand the you used to find the belly button and place it over your fist. then pull inward and upward to force air out in attempt to dislodge the object. continue until the object is dislodged or the person passes out. in the mean time 911 should have been called and you shouldn't have to continue because they should have arrived by the time that happens if called immediately
It would come down to safety issues in the armed services, it depends on what you are doing? If you are a pilot chances are good they will give you grief about it with fight suits and pressure suits. If you are ground support it may not be and issue but over all the armed services (air force, navy, army etc.) all will generally say it's a no go. However I have provided several members of the army, navy and air force with various body piercing and it hasn't been and issue except for tongue piercings and the swelling that goes with the new piercing orally. Consealed body piercing have not been a big issue and is usually not mentioned ( medics look the other way for the most part ) during physicals etc. The best bet is to just come out and ask someone you trust in the service (NCO etc.) what the drill is about the unwritten piercing policy. Hope that helps
pushed in so that the exaust is off, on will force hot air from out side in.

There are no reasons to get anything pierced, it's a personal decision for personal reasons. If you are looking to get someone to talk you into something then body piercing is not for you. Body piercing is a persons decision of how they define themselves, not open to others opinions or motivation.

Actually not long at all. See it's the clothing and shirts and other layers that cause irritation to the navel piercing. If the piercing were done and left uncovered except for sleeping (bed sheets etc.) the piercing would look not bad maybe a very small red circle around the top exit point. So redness comes with the territory of clothing and irritation, this can be expected for a period of 3 to 6 months depending on the weather and the amount of clothing you wear over the navel. Remember regardless of what anyone tells you who isn't a professional body piercer navel piercing take a good year to heal and become seasoned* (* toughened up). So be nice to it and when possible give it all the fresh air you can.
