Depends on the laws where you are, and what you were doing with the gun. In much of the US, you must be 18 to possess a rifle/shotgun, but 21 to possess a handgun. Laws vary from state to state, country to country. I am well past the age of 18, and have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, but cannot carry a firearm into a post office, school, or airport. There is a law agaisnt that.
