No but you can by the barrel code, check the Remington Society of America page:
By the serial number and markings on the barrel.
The serial number 4279990 is a partial serial number for this rifle. To determine the date the rifle was manufactured you need to provide a complete serial number that begins with letters.
the serial number is not a remington rand serial number. it is a colt commercial 1911. you have a rem-rand slide on a colt frame. sorry.
Your remington model 700 which has a letter A prefix to the serial number, indicates that it was made in 1980.
I don't believe the Remington 512, 511 or 510 have serial numbers
Post a serial or call Remington.
Email Remington. They will get back to you.
Email Remington with the #. They will get back to you.
Impossible to answer without a serial number.
Remington firearms are not dated from a serial number, but by a 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on the barrel, left side, about a quarter inch from the receiver. Go to the website for the Remington Collector's Society for a table showing how to determine the month and year made IF the gun has the original barrel.
