Yes passive smoking involves those in your surrounding to inhale certain toxic gases which in turn could harm more than "natural smoking" Smoking the cigarette you are getting the filtered smoke, but secondhand smoke you are getting the "sidestream" and "mainstream" smoke. this means you are breathing in what the smoker is exhaling out, and what is burning off the cigarette. 40% of lung cancer patients who have died are second hand smokers. Done ;)

Passive smoking, or second-hand smoking, carries much of the same risks as actively smoking. The chances you will get cancer or some other negative consequence from the smoke is still very real, if not as high.

Contrary to popular myth, no. The common argument here is that the smoke coming off the burning end of the cigarette is more dangerous than the smoke inhaled by a smoker due to the lack of a filter. However, despite this, a smoker inhales MUCH more smoke than a nonsmoker will when breathing secondhand smoke. Also, when smoking, a smoker is inhaling his/her own secondhand smoke in addition to first hand smoke. In fact, a smoker is generally inhaling MORE secondhand smoke than a nonsmoker since the cigarette is generally closer. So although secondhand smoke poses a danger to nonsmokers, it actually poses a greater danger to smokers (on top of the dangers of first hand smoke).

Lung cancer is the most serious risk and danger of smoking, and smoking around other people puts them at risk for this deadly cancer as well. Other serious health threats caused by smoking include emphysema, hypertension, and other types of cancers like throat cancer or mouth cancer.

The difference between smoking and passive smoking is that passive smokers are the people upon whom the smoke is inflicted. It means passive smokers inhale smoke of the other active smokers.
