No it cannot. Does any other sexually transmitted disease prevent pregnancy?? Think about it. If they told you that it does they were not telling the truth because if a woman is fertile she is going to fertile whether she has any disease or not?? I know personally because I have herpes and I have gotten pregnant two times and Ive had it for at least going on 3 years. Woman with aids still get pregnant and that is a far more tragic disease then herpes. Herpes is not a life or death situation and that's where alot of people make mistakes. You can have herpes and live your life normal just as a person who did not have herpes. You just might want to talk to your doctor about finding out when you are ovulating or when you are fertile. They can give you a test to determine when the best period to conceive is if you are having trouble conceiving. If herpes prevented pregnancy then why would doctors still put me on Birth Control. I am a very fertile female and my herpes has yet to stop me. But good luck with that. Call your doctor set up an appointment and talk to them about it and they will let you know all the information about it.

No, herpes can't prevent pregnancy.
