BV won't prevent pregnancy.
Your chances of having an ectopic pregnancy from BV is about zero.
BV shouldn't prevent you from getting pregnant.
BV won't cause a false negative on a pregnancy test.
Use of condoms will help you not to have BV.
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) itself does not cause a false pregnancy test result. Pregnancy tests detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is not influenced by BV. However, if BV leads to menstrual irregularities or other underlying issues, it could potentially affect the timing of a pregnancy test, but it would not directly cause a false positive or negative result. Always consult a healthcare provider for accurate diagnosis and advice.
It is not recommended to take flagyl during pregnancy.

BV is an imbalance / overgrowth of some bacteria in the vagina. Since sperm is basic and not acidic, having ejaculate in the vagina increases the pH and causes BV. Normal vaginal pH is less then 4.5. Some women have BV without sexual intercourse, and for some reason the normal vagina flora is disrupted. It is not known exactly what causes BV in some women.
