No. Indiana does permit the taking of deer with handguns, but requires that the bullet must be of at least 0.243" diameter or larger (the required bullet size for rifles is even larger, and that for muzzleloaders larger still). .22 caliber ammunition, regardless of load, does not meet this requirement.
