The Remington 870 Express shotgun was first introduced in 1950, and it has been produced in various models and configurations since then. The serial number of a specific Remington 870 can help determine its year of manufacture, as Remington has used a date code system for serial numbers. If you have a particular serial number, you can refer to Remington's records or online resources to find the corresponding year.
The first year that the Rem Choke or screw in choke on Remington shotguns was 1986. It made the already famous Remington 870 even more popular.
