Sears, Wards, JC Penney and Western Auto used a variety of gun makers to make guns for them. Companies like Mossberg, Savage, Hi Standard, Stevens, Colt and Marlin all made company guns for these stores
Mossberg made all their rifles in the USA.
Sears SOLD guns until about 1989. Most of the guns sold by Sears said J C Higgins or Ted Williams- the Sears brands- but they were made by a gun making company for Sears. Savage, Mossberg, Marlin, High Standard, etc all made guns for Sears. However, between 1905 and 1918, Sears owned the Meriden Company, which made guns for Sears, as well as others. The guns were not marked Sears, but Meriden or AJ Aubrey.
I do not have a cross reference for THAT model number, but many (not all) of the JC Higgins bolt action shotguns were made by Mossberg. Check with Havlin Sales through their website- they are my "go-to" supplier for anything with older Mossberg guns.

Sears and all the other companies stopped selling guns around 1985.
From the start all browning guns were made by FN of belguim for browning between 1903-1975.After that all guns were made by Miroku of japan.

Western Field was a firearms brand adopted by Montgomery Ward (although they also marketed firearms under the brand name "Wards"). The guns were manufactured by various larger firearms companies including Colt, Marlin, Mossberg Remington, Savage, Stevens, and several others. The guns made for Montgomery Ward were, essentially, copies of the major manufacturer models, branded with the "Western Field" brand name, and a model number specific to the Western Field brand. The Western Field Model 550ABD was manufactured by Mossberg for Montgomery Ward (Mossberg also made guns for Sears and Western Auto), and are identical to the Mossberg 500 series shotguns. Schematic diagrams for the Western Field are not abundantly available, but the parts diagram for the Mossberg Model 500 is available on the Mossberg web site at: http://www.mossberg.com You can also try contacting Havlin Sales and Service. They stock and sell Mossberg gun parts, and specialize in the out-of-production Mossberg guns. They also operate the National Mossberg Collectors Association, and are a wealth of information on anything Mossberg. http://www.havlinsales.com http://www.mossbergcollectors.org Since Montgomery Ward is no longer in business, your only other option would be a reproduction manual. Rediscovered Shooting Treasures specializes in manual reproductions for out-of-production guns. If they don't have it on their web site, you could e-mail them and see if its something that they could do. http://www.rediscovered-shooting-treasures.com/index.htm If all else fails, get the Mossberg 500 Manual. It is the same gun, and all parts are interchangable.
USA Metal parts including the internals and the barrels are made in Mexico. Wood parts and synthetic stocks are made in the USA. The receivers, the bodies of the shotguns themselves, are made at the factory in Eagle Pass, Texas. All of the parts from Mexico are then shipped to the Eagle Pass, Texas plant and assembled into the complete guns. Mexico has strict laws about manufacturing firearms in their country so the receivers can never cross the borders into their country. Up until 2008, the Mossberg Maverick 88 and 91 were assembled from parts at the Eagle Pass, Texas plant and the Mossberg 500 line assembled at the New Haven, Conn plant, but as of now all Mossberg receivers and all final assembly is done at the Texas plant.
Mossberg. It was sold through Montgomery wards. Its a Mossberg 500 with the western field name. All Mossberg parts interchange.
