Yes. There were major changes, especially in aviation technology. The materials and structure of aeroplanes changed from using wood to using alluminium, placesment of guns so that the shooting wouldn't have to be syncronised with the propeller.

Engines were another major change. WW1 aircrafts would have a top speed of 180km/h, WW2 ones had a top speed of 800km/h. WW1 engines were under power and were very heavy, therfore engines were created that had a longer life, had better fuel with more fuel going in the engine, beter materials and it produced 8 times more power than WW1 engines.
