Chris didn't go, he was asleep and Selena went by herself because Yolanda told her to and told her that she had been raped.
2nd Post: He apparently went with her the other on one of the many attempts by Yolanda to get Selena alone. It was the day before she was killed - Chris drove her to see Yolanda to get bank statements and waited by his truck. Yolanda purposely gave her the wrong statements to try and get Selena alone AGAIN. Chris rejected the idea of going back that night, and Selena went by herself the next morning while Chris was in bed, which is when she was killed.

Selena died on March 31, 1995 after being shot by Yolanda Saldivar, her fan club president. Selena died March 31, 1995. She was shot to death. Her manager and fan club-president ,Yolanda Saldivar,killed her. Trying to avoid the subject of her taking money from Selena's boutiques, she (Yolanda) told Selena that she had been raped. After taking her to the hospital and finding no proof of Yolanda being raped, her and Selena went to a motel and Selena told Yolanda that she couldn't trust her anymore. So Yolanda drew a gun from her bag and shot Selena in the back. Selena ran outside the room and collapsed on the lobby floor. Selena died March 31, 1995, at the age of 23.

I suppose the real tragedy occurred when it became clear that Yolanda had no way out of the situation of the missing financial records and the ensuing argument with Selena. This was when Yolanda pulled out a gun and fired one shot at Selena as she was attempting to get out the door, which ultimately led to Selena's death. Sadly, Selena died before doctors could help her at the local hospital. Selena basically bled to death, with a severed artery. Selena could've survived if she had been attended to at the hospital much earlier before all that blood went out.
