I would say a stop line because if theres a stop sign most likely there is a stop line.... and in some places like my nabior hood people steal stop signs so watch for the line....
Stop just before you enter the intersection.
if there is no line or crosswalk your first stop is where you can safely see oncoming traffic
Stop your vehicle behind the first line you come to, that is the limit line. When you have stopped completely it is legal to go, providing it is safe. If more than one car arrives at the sign, the first one to stop has the right of way. If it is a four way stop, and you stop at the same time as another car, the car on the right goes first. Or just gas it. just kidding
Yes, technically it is. Once at a stop sign, one must STOP--then proceed through the intersection to the other side. Reversing could result in confusion or an accident if anyone is behind you as that is NOT expected and normally should not occur.
Not in the UK, failing to stop at a stop sign is a motoring offence, you can be fined and points added to your driving licence, but you will not get a criminal record.
Well you would simply stop before the sign, meaning that there is an imaginary stop-line that extends from any stop sign, and you must stop before you cross that line.
At the white line or the nearest line of the crosswalk. If there is no line, then at an imaginary stop-line extending out from the stop sign. You may ALSO need to stop at a point further ahead, where you can safely determine if it is safe to proceed. You obviously have to stop behind anyone ELSE who has stopped for the stop sign, then stop again when you reach the stop-line yourself.
you stop at the white line instead of the stop sign, the stop sign would be to far
You should stop your vehicle completely at a stop sign before proceeding.
Stop just before you enter the intersection.
To aproach a stop sign what should you do
A stop sign with a line through it signifies that the usual requirement to stop at that intersection has been lifted, and drivers do not need to come to a complete stop.
You must stop before your car reaches the line marked on the road. If your front bumper is above the line when you stop then you technically did not stop and can be ticketed. On the other hand if you stop more then about a half a car length before the line, you are not considered to be at the traffic control sign yet.
Drivers should come to a complete stop at a two-way stop sign intersection when they reach the stop line or before entering the intersection, and yield the right of way to any vehicles that arrived first or are already in the intersection.
At an intersection, you should stop at the stop line or before the crosswalk, if there is no stop line present.
how mant feet from the stop sign ahould you stop
you must stop behind the first white line painted on the ground next to the stop sign
