They started as a three piece band, Sumner (guitar, synth, vocals), Hook (bass and vocals) and Morris (drums). The recorded their debut single as a three piece band before Gillian Gilbert joined to play guitar and synth back up as Sumner couldn't play guitar and sing at the same time!
