---- A biologist was asked to finally determine whether crows and ravens are really two different birds. This has been a matter of some conjecture for quite some time. Given only a cursory glance, these birds appear to be one and the same.
The biologist spent considerable time watching the birds in their habitat and logging hours of observations. The observations did not appear to provide any conclusive evidence that crows and ravens are different.
The biologist performed dissections of ravens and crows and found that their internal workings appeared to be similar. No significant difference was found.
The biologist then performed very careful examinations of two live birds. One a raven and the other a crow. The heads and beaks are remarkably similar. The size and shapes of the birds' bodies did not show much difference. Even the legs and feet of the birds were similar.
But, at last, a breakthrough. The long feathers at the tip of a birds wings, the pinion feathers, provided the conclusion that ravens and crows differ. A raven has four pinion feathers and a crow has five pinion feathers.
So...........................
The difference between ravens and crows is a matter of a pinion!
Ravens feathers generally have a blue-ish tinge to them as they are so black, and they are bigger than most crows. crows also tend to have a larger head than ravens. Ravens are generally larger(21" vs 17") with a wedgeshaped tail, and crows seldom glide for more than 2-3 seconds. I think they have different shaped beaks
Blue jays are larger, more aggressive, and are colored differently.Cardinals are basicly seed eaters in the finch family, while blue jays are scavengers, related to crows and ravens.
Yes
There is a very unusual name for a group of crows. While they, like all birds, can be called a "flock", a group of crows is also known as a "murder". There is much discussion but little agreement on WHY they are called a murder of crows. Other collective nouns include; Hover, Muster, Parcel, Mob
Supposed to be magpies, with the white on the body, but are more like crows in size and beak structure. In fact, while Magpies (Pica pica) are in the same family as crows, the birds in the commercial are Pied Crows ( Corvus albus )

Crows (ravens) do live in the deserts of North America. Answer2. The common crow does live in the deserts, but in limited numbers. The common raven, a larger relative of the crow, is found there, as is the Chihuahuan raven. Ravens are similar in appearance to crows, but are larger, with shaggy throat feathers and a larger bill. In flight, the crow has a fan shaped tail, while ravens show a distinct wedge shaped tail. Raven's call is a hoarse croak, while the crow emits an honest to goodness "caw".

A crown and pinion are used in steering and driving. A pinion gear is used to steer against the force of gravity, while the crown is a wheel with cogs lining along its rim.
In old Shakespearean play writes scavenger and predator birds often are used as omens, which in most cases leads to tragic deaths. I think they were crows and vultures in Julius Caesar specifically. Don't quote me on that, though. Hadn't read it in a while, but I remember scavenger birds flew over the protagonists' heads as they marched to war.
If your talking about crows then yes, they caw while flying.

Three types of scavengers are vultures, hyenas, and raccoons. Vultures primarily feed on carrion, while hyenas scavenge on a wide variety of animal remains. Raccoons are opportunistic feeders, consuming both plant and animal matter left behind by other animals.
The Ravens have defeated the Steelers at home more than once in Pittsburgh over the years.
Gold has more mass than feathers. This is because gold is a dense metal, while feathers are lightweight and airy.
