It is most difficult to come up with an estimate as to the royalties for the musical 'Wicked'. The musical still is being performed on Broadway, and through national tours of the United States of America and international tours. At this point, there still is no end in sight to the successful run of performances and the expansion of the tours to additional places and times.

The exact rate depends upon the contract in force at the particular location and with the particular star.

Specifically, there are a number of stars what with national and international productions of the musical. The salaries are in line with what is legally accepted in the profession as it is performed in particular locale. They also consider the established or expected audience appeal of the particular star. For example, the actors in the Broadway and National Tour performances may expect a salary range that comes out as a weekly minimum of $1,653* and that may cluster around $35,000 for those who play the two main roles of Elphaba and Glinda.

*The minimum rate is $952 for a week in which the performances involve less than full-time work. Both minimum figures are in accordance with the Actor's Equity Association contract in effect between June 30, 2008 and September 25, 2011. They are in line with the rate structure in effect since August 30, 2010.
