Many native North American Indian tribes held lands in what is modern day Canada ; the largest tribes were :

  • Ojibewa / Ojibwa / Chippewa
  • Inuit / Eskimo
  • Mohawk
  • Blackfoot
  • Lakota / Dakota / Sioux
